The Role

Hermods Komvux Learning Center is seeking a certified teacher in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Natural Science at the upper secondary level for our distance education program. As a distance teacher with us, you will be responsible for teaching in our shared learning platform and ensuring that students have the best conditions to succeed in their education. Real-time meetings and remote teaching are part of the job. Furthermore, the assignment involves developing the subject in the learning platform and actively participating in collegial forums to promote more equitable teaching, assessment, and grading.

The work is conducted remotely, primarily during the day, although evening and weekend work may occur. The assignment offers a high degree of flexibility, allowing you to work from virtually anywhere in Sweden. You will be directly supervised by the assistant principal and will participate in various collegial forums such as work teams and subject teams.

Profile

You are a certified and qualified teacher in the subjects mentioned above and are well acquainted with the school's governing documents, preferably with experience in distance education and adult education. We expect you to have good digital competence and to use digital tools in your teaching naturally. You also have a strong commitment to student learning and employ well-established teaching strategies to help them achieve their goals. Knowledge of multilingualism, language development approaches, and adult learning is an asset.

You are independent and enjoy working on your own, although good collaboration skills are required to work together with colleagues and other roles in the organization. You have a student-centered approach and are actively engaged in creating an accessible, inclusive, supportive, and stimulating educational environment remotely.

Other

The position is a part-time employment (fixed-term contract), which means you can combine the work with other commitments. You will need to provide your own computer, headset, printer, and any other necessary equipment.
